The Alpha Iota Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia professional music fraternity
was founded by 18 musicians at the University of Texas at Austin on May 11, 1924. Today
the Chapter is still going strong with over 30 active members. The ideals that Phi Mu
Alpha was founded on 100 years ago are still the foundation and spirit of the Alpha Iota
Chapter today. We hope this website will give the public more of an insight into who we are
